Mark Hawkesworth - Investment Partner

Mark has spent over 23 years in the private equity industry and has gained considerable experience of delivering strategic growth and realising value from UK and European companies. Mark joined Nova in 2005 from Baring Private Equity Partners (BPEP) where he was responsible for €400 million of funds under management. Together with fellow senior partners, he led the buy-out of BPEP in 2004. Prior to this, Mark spent 12 years at Lazard where he established a UK venture capital business which in 1996 became part of BPEP, the ING Group's private equity operation.

Mark originally trained as an electrical engineer and spent his early career working for international engineering companies such as Taylor Woodrow, Trafalgar House and BICC, firstly in operational roles but later moving in to corporate finance where he worked on acquisition and disposal programmes.
